Klenk Law specializes in trusts, wills, estate planning, probate, and will challenges and will contests, with offices in Philadelphia, Bucks County, Allentown, New York and New Jersey.
Peter was raised on a farm located 60 miles north of Minneapolis, Minnesota. While working several jobs to pay for his education, he graduated cum laude and with honors from the University of Minnesota in 1987 and graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1990.
Furthering his study of estate, gift and generation skipping taxation, Peter earned an LL.M. in Taxation from the top-ranked NYU tax program. An LL.M. is an intensive one-year program focusing on a single area of the law that is in addition to the typical three-year J.D. program.
Following a family tradition of military service, Peter served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy JAG Corp. In 1992, the Navy awarded his team of attorneys a Meritorious Unit commendation for providing estate planning services to more than 10,000 service members deployed to the Middle East during Desert Storm/Desert Shield.
After leaving the Navy, Peter focused his practice in the area of estate planning. By concentrating his practice exclusively on estate planning, Peter is able to provide his clients with an understanding of the subtleties, including most recent changes in gift, estate, inheritance and generation skipping taxes.
Since founding his own firm in 1998, Peter’s estate planning practice has flourished. He now represents clients throughout the country, from California and Washington to Maine and Florida. Based in Philadelphia, he utilizes the most modern techniques to provide estate planning services throughout the country. Business is conducted through email, fax, phone, the mail and overnight delivery or in person at the client’s home or at the office of their local professional advisors. Peter is a member of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Minnesota, New York and Florida state bars.
When not involved with business matters, Peter is an active Mason.
Glen grew up in the suburbs of Kansas City, Kansas, but left the midwest to go to college at the University of Tennessee. There, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Finance with honors. He received his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where he graduated in the top five percent of his class and was a member of the Law Review and Trial Team. He became a member of the Missouri Bar in 1991, the Pennsylvania Bar in 1995, and the New Jersey Bar in 2013.
Glen served as a lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General’s Corp of the U.S. Navy from 1991 to 1995. During his four years of military service, his time was split between defending and prosecuting sailors and marines before courts-martial. Following his time in the Navy, he spent two years with the Office of General Counsel for the Department of the Navy practicing employment law.
From 1999 until joining the Law Offices of Peter Klenk in 2012, he was engaged in a practice of intense general litigation with the firm of Margolis Edelstein in Philadelphia. In this position, he handled trial matters before courts in more than a dozen Pennsylvania counties as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Further, Glen has presented numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Pennsylvania appellate courts including twice arguing before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania resulting in numerous published decisions.
In 1999, Glen earned a graduate degree of Masters-in-Divinity with first honors from Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, PA. He currently lives in Conshohocken, PA, with his wife, three children and two dogs.
Tatyana V. Gleyzer – Estate Planning and Probate
Tatyana V. Gleyzer is an associate in the Estate Administration Department. She graduated from Drexel University with bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, concentrating in finance and accounting. Her Drexel co-op was with an accounting firm where she worked as a staff accountant preparing individual and business tax returns and conducting audits. Before going to law school, Tatyana worked as a financial analyst for two years. During law school, she worked in a boutique litigation firm doing commercial and estate litigation.
While at Widener University School of Law, Tatyana served on the Executive Board of the Moot Court Honor Society. She graduated cum laude, also receiving a concentration Certificate in Business Organizations Law, with honors. Tatyana is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Tatyana volunteers with Wills for Heroes, a pro bono program that offers free basic estate planning documents to first responders (police, firefighters, and paramedics).
Josh Baer – Litigation
Since 2001 Josh has represented over one thousand individuals, companies and organizations in all manners of state and federal litigation, and he has successfully tried hundreds of cases before juries, judges and arbitration panels. He is a 2001 graduate of Temple University Law School where he participated with distinction in the school’s Integrated Trial Advocacy Program. He received a Bachelors of Science degree in Labor and Industrial Studies from Penn State University in 1993, and first worked as a certified real estate appraiser before attending law school.
Josh joins the Klenk Law Firm’s litigation team after having practiced for nearly fifteen years at Philadelphia’s Margolis Edelstein, handling casualty litigation, construction defect, products liability, class action and professional liability matters. Utilizing his real estate background, Josh also handles matters involving title, boundary and tax assessment issues. He has successfully defended jury verdict wins in Pennsylvania’s appellate courts. Josh is an active volunteer in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas where he serves as a judge pro tem in the Day Forward Major Jury and Compulsory Arbitration Appeal programs. His involvement within the Philadelphia Bar Association includes membership in its State Civil and Compulsory Arbitration Committees, the latter of which he served as co-chair for several years.
Outside of the law, Josh’s advocacy for others has been exercised through his service on the board and, later, as president of the board of the Friends of the Free Library of Philadelphia, as well as having received two mayoral appointments to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee.
Josh is an avid scholar of the Philadelphia area’s rich history and he will speak to you for days about cars, cooking, music, and obscure Phillies players from the 1970s and ‘80s. He, his wife, Dana, and their two children live in Meadowbrook, PA, and they are diehard fans of their kids’ sporting endeavors.
Yean-Ling (Carol) Kuo – Tax and Accounting Manager
Carol is an experienced Certified Public Accountant with expertise in financial reporting, fringe benefits, budgeting, forecasting and tax filings for corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and individual income taxes.
She graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana, Champaign with a Master of Accounting degree and has been working in accounting field for over twenty years. Carol’s career included time as an Accounting Manager at Family Care Health Centers and Chief Financial Officer at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Hospital. She then owned her own accounting practice where she provided all business accounting services. She helped her clients analyze and interpret financial data into sound management decisions. Carol is familiar with IRS regulations and often represents her clients when communicating with taxing authorities to clarify issues.
Carol grew up in Taiwan and is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese. After living in St. Louis for 20 years, she followed her husband to New Jersey two years ago. She and her husband stay busy exploring the east coast; especially since her two grown children are located in Boston and Baltimore. In her spare time, Carol volunteers with the local Taiwanese American community and holds board positions for FAPA (Formosan Association for Public Affairs), NATWA (North American Taiwanese Women’s Association), and is a member of the Finance Committee for her Home Owner’s Association.
Amy Besser – Estate Administration
Amy H. Besser is an associate in the Estate Administration Department. She received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1978, with a concentration in accounting. After an internship at an accounting firm in Philadelphia, Amy attended Rutgers School of Law – Newark. She was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania in December, 1981.
Amy’s early practice was in the fields of real estate and general business, and she served as house counsel to two real estate development companies from 1986 until 2006. At that time, she joined a firm in Radnor, Pennsylvania, where her practice shifted to estate and trust administration, in addition to real estate matters. She started working at the law firm in late 2013, where she handles various estate and trust matters.
Amy lives with her husband in Havertown and has three grown children. In her spare time, she volunteers at her synagogue, loves to read, and is an enthusiastic Ultimate Frisbee fan.
Adam D. Reid – Estate Planning and Litigation
Adam D. Reid represents clients in the Estate Planning and Estate Litigation Departments. Adam grew up locally, in Haddonfield, New Jersey. He graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. As an undergraduate Adam spent his summers working at a consulting firm, working with global accounting and chemical companies to develop business writing and sales training programs.
Adam continued his Philadelphia education at the Temple University Beasley School of Law. Focusing his efforts on taxation and transactional studies. While at Temple, Adam clerked at Kleinbard LLC in their Business and Finance Department. He spent a majority of time working on the team handling mergers and acquisitions.
Adam started at Klenk Law in 2014 and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He lives in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia and is active with the Philadelphia Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. In his spare time, he is an avid runner and dyed-in-the-wool Philadelphia sports fan.
Jacqueline S. Mettinger – Estate Administration and Litigation Paralegal
Jackie received her Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Delaware County Community College in 2002. Since graduation her main interest and experience have been in Estate Law. She began working for the Law Offices of Peter Klenk in 2010 and concentrates on assisting the attorneys in probate and litigation matters. She loves her job and helping clients during the emotional and difficult time of administering a loved one’s estate. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and in her spare time she likes watching movies and photography.
Jonuka Warren – Office Administrator
Jonuka is a city of Philadelphia native. She attended William W. Bodine High School for International Affairs, a small, yet diverse Philadelphia school in Northern Liberties, where she graduated in 2009. Following graduation, she studied English with a focus in Literature as well as Language and Composition at The Pennsylvania State University, Main Campus, for two years. She also studied at the Abington campus with an English Lit focus. Aside from her English studies, her interests include writing, photography, traveling, and exploring her own city. Jonuka joined the firm summer of 2014.
